How does the change to state testing impact the graduation and promotion requirements for current students?
Parents - A passing score on the FSA ELA and Algebra 1 EOC are still required for graduation purposes. They were waived for seniors graduating in 2020 and 2021 ONLY. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your student's counselor or me.
- Students enrolled in a course with an associated EOC did not have to take the Spring EOC in 2020, but will be required to meet the math assessment graduation requirement in one of three ways:
- pass a future administration of the Algebra 1 EOC (offered four times per year)
- earn a concordant score (ACT, SAT, PSAT, ACT NCR)
- pass a future administration of the Geometry EOC.
- Students who did not take the Grade 10 English Language Arts (ELA) FSA in the Spring of 2020 must still meet the exit criteria by:
- Passing a future administration of the FSA ELA assessment (retakes 2 times each year, or earning a concordant score. (ACT, SAT, ACT NCR)
- Students who graduated in the 2021 school year also had their EOC and FSA ELA requirements waived. This pertained to SENIORS only. All other students still need to meet their Math and ELA testing requirements for graduation purposes. In other words, even though the EOC score wasn't factored into their EOC course grade, all students are still required to meet the ELA and Math graduation requirement. This is usually done through the 10th grade FSA ELA and Alg 1 EOC. There are alternate ways of meeting these testing requirements and are all listed above.
